I’ve discovered a super-cool resource for graphics and web design! Often I have to develop graphics for a client and don’t want to use the generic stock images at a service such as iStockphoto. And, also often, my client just can’t fit paying for more resources into her budget. Times like these call for thinking outside of the box and exploring the web for alternatives like Unsplash. Unsplash has free-to-use, incredible, copyright-free photos taken by super-talented photographers from around the world.
The Unsplash License:
All photos published on Unsplash are licensed under Creative Commons Zero which means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the photos for free, including commercial purposes, without asking permission from or providing attribution to the photographer or Unsplash.
Ahhh… that’s the kind of license I love!
Some of my recent favorites…
The photo detail page gives you all the information about who took the photo, where and how the photo was taken. They are all high-resolution, crystal clear and large format – just wonderful. These are perfect for creating print brochures, posters, responsive website backgrounds, banner ads, and anything else you can think of!
